For many people Valentine’s Day is a day to express our love to our mate. As a screenwriter, I’d like to expand on that model and say it can be much more elastic.
Why not let it be a day that we celebrate our love for EVERYTHING in our life that has a special meaning to us — gives us joy — and enriches our existence.
To practice what I’m suggesting I’ll start …
I want to thank and honor ALL the screenwriters I have worked with this past year by explaining why I do what I do.
For years I was focused on my career and writing for Prime Time TV Drama. Seeing my name flash across my TV screen in the Written by credit was exciting and ENOUGH …
But NOT anymore!
About a year ago (Feb. 26th, 2014) I started this web site in an effort to mentor the next generation of show runners. It has been an AMAZING journey! One that has brought many new writers and industry professionals into my circle.
The expansion has been exponential and life changing on so many levels. And not just in my life but for the screenwriters’ lives as well. In short, it has taken my breath away and I am sincerely filled with gratitude.
Those of you that have worked with me this past year know that one of my biggest joys in life is meeting with screenwriters (aspiring or pros) and listening to your stories. Hearing what inspires you to write and observing how truly determined you are to succeed. This is what rocks my world!
