As a writer, I’ve written several produced feature screenplays, including “Off The Ledge” (starring and co-written by Brooke P. Anderson (The Perfect Host, Lost) and Andrew Pinon (Singled Out), also starring Anne Ramsay (League of Their Own, Dexter) and Zosia Mamet (HBO’s Girls); “Diamonds & Gun” (starring Renee’ O’Connor and Ted Raimi); and upcoming projects with Cordova Pictures, Risoli Films, and Mad Galaxy. I have produced several distributed feature films and projects including; “Diamonds & Guns” (with Renee O’Connor & Helena Beaven), “Off The Ledge” (with Brooke Anderson), ”Night of the Templar” (with Paul Sampson), “You Are A Star” & “Outside My Window” (with Pina De Rosa), “Infinity (with Randy Crowder),” “Words Unspoken” (with Renee O’Connor), “The Usual,” and I’m currently Executive Producing with Taryn Hipwell on “Survivor Project.” I am currently in post on two sizzle reels, “The Hub” and “Last Chance.” I am also developing several feature scripts.
I am now a member of the Producers Guild, and I was nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Women Making A Difference Awards three years in a row.
“The Usual” won Best Director at Action on Film, Best Dramatic Short Film at Independent Filmmaker Showcase, Best Short Film at On Location Memphis, and the Platinum Remi Award at Worldfest Houston amongst others, and was an Official Selection Finalist at American Pavilion’s Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Festival de Cannes, and screened at the Short Film Corner at Cannes and Palm Springs Shortfest markets. The film is set to screen at the San Pedro International Film Festival and in Laughlin International Film Festival via NewfilmmakersLA in October. “The Usual” has been featured in several articles including the below.
Why I Write: It’s impossible for me not to write. I write on a daily basis (most times on a script, sometimes a poem, other times quirky remarks on FB or Twitter or Instagram for fun, sometimes just jotting notes in a notepad about an adventure I went on or new colleagues. Writing is what I love to do most in the world. It’s cathartic and healing and fun and emotional and engulfing and intriguing and the history of things is so interesting to me. I love the use of words to define a character, to set an environment, to artfully create a world.
Why “The Usual”: Wanted to tell a story about kindness, it was as simple as that, but I wanted to tell the story in an interesting, thought provoking, artful way. As a filmmaker I wanted to challenge myself.
