Viewers and Broadcast TV owners will be on the edge of their seats this month (June) when the Supreme Court rules on the current David and Goliath battle between Aereo TV and the major Broadcast TV networks.
The public’s TV viewing habits have changed drastically and continue to evolve. People went from recording their favorite shows on VHS, then switched to DVR, then shifted to DVD binge watching, and finally streaming VOD.
Given the current Comcast merger, the pending Supreme Court decision on the Aereo lawsuit, no one — including the powers that be — know where the future of TV viewing or the costs to view content will end up.
One thing we can all count on is that we will all be paying a higher price for content. The main question is — How much will be too much?
