Commitment is a Choice

New Commitment is a choice

Commitment is not only a choice — it is the foundation of success.

When we are truly committed to something (or someone) our intention is laser sharp.  Distractions fall by the wayside.  There is no time to waste.  Nothing gets in the way of what we want and we play full out.

Through the years, I’ve worked with many writers.  There have been writers who were driven but lacked talent and writers who were talented but lacked the drive or commitment to simply GO FOR IT!

Bottom line, when a writer is not fully committed to having a career as a Film or TV professional, they are simply dabbling in it.

Is writing merely a hobby for you?

If you’ve read this far, then I firmly believe you are truly committed to you dream.  So what’s the next step to kick your career into high gear?

The key ingredient is – Focus.

Focus gives you the edge.  It separates the dabblers from the dedicated.  Without it we dilute our efforts and we typically don’t succeed or, if we do, it takes much longer.

On the first of 2014 you most likely made New Year’s resolutions.  One or more of those resolutions had to do with advancing your career goals.  If you are in the majority of the population, those resolutions have been forgotten.  Sound familiar?

No problem!

Now is the time to refocus and reignite your commitment and — take action.

Recommit, direct your ambition, and put every ounce of your energy into your dream.  JUST DO IT!

Here’s my challenge to you –

Make a list of one action you can take each day for the next thirty days to advance your career goals and live your dream.

Let this Call to Action ignite a spark that will completely engage all your energy, efforts, and enthusiasm to truly kick everything into high gear.

If the going gets tough just remember this mantra …

A Winner Never Quits and A Quitter Never Wins

Thirty days from now — on May 15th – post an update to me in the comment section of my FAQ page.  I want to hear about your progress.

See you in the credits.
